First Time Traveling Overseas: Could I get some advice on my budget?
So I'm planning on scooping up a $463 flight to Paris (from the US) sometime tomorrow before it disappears. Since this will be my first time going to Europe or even planning a trip of this magnitude I'd like a little advice on planning my time and budget before I pull the trigger.
Here's what I know so far:
- I'm flying into and leaving out of Paris
- I'm travelling alone
- I have a budget of $2500 (including travel expenses)
-
I want to see two other cities (right now it's seeming like Rome and Venice)
-
I'll be leaving around Jan 23rd, and plan on returning on Feb 4th
Excluding travel that seems like it'll give me 4 days to see Paris, 3.5 days to see Rome, and 2ish days to see Venice
I'm thinking my budget will breakdown roughly as follows:
- $463 for the ticket
- $400 for housing (I priced out hostels for each city during the time I expect to be there)
- $600 for food (~$50 * 13 days)
- $250 eurail
- $100 bus travel
- ~$200 for museums/souvenirs/etc
My questions are:
-
Does this seem like enough time for visiting these three cities?
-
Does the budget seem reasonable? Or am I forgetting/underestimating/overestimating some aspect?
Thanks guys!
