First Solo Trip this weekend: Austria, Hungary, Switzerland. Have some questions (including car rental).

Solo traveling for my first time this coming weekend; super excited! Young professional coming from Detroit, MI, to explore parts of Europe! Have a question on car rentals, etc. Here's my itinerary:
12/17: Arrive in Vienna in AM
12/18: Vienna
12/19: Vienna - possibly a short tour of Bratislava too?
12/20: Day trip - Budapest (I will be driving)
12/21: Mauthausen (visiting concentration camp; my grandfather was there for at least a year) & Salzburg (overnight)
12/22: Salzburg in morning/train to Zurich in afternoon
12/23: Day trip Lucern/sleepover Zurch
12/24: Departing Zurich for Madrid
12/25 - 1/1: Madrid & London
Questions: 1) Car rental: I will be picking up in Vienna (airport) and ideally dropping off in Salzburg. What's the process to return in Salzburg? Do I return at the airport then get a taxi to take my to my hotel in Salzburg? 2) Is Bratislava worth visitng to break up the time in Vienna? Only an hour away and I will have a car 3) How do I get passes to drive in Austria, Hungary and Slovakia (if I decide to stop by Bratislava)? Do I tell the rental car place where I am driving when I pick up? 4) Should I spend an extra day in Switzerland? Or is two days enough to see Zurich and Lucern? 5) Any must have items off of Amazon I should order today before my trip that I may not have already thought of (already bought power converters, selfie stick, gloves, etc)? 6) Any other random ideas you'd suggest!
If anyone wants to meet up please let me know! Definitely open to it.
Not on too much of a budget this trip thankfully. Thanks so much for the advice! I love this subreddit and it is extremely inspirational.
