Budapest vs Lisbon in December ?
I have 5 days between Christmas and New years. None of my friends are available so I'll be going solo.
I need to decide between Budapest vs Lisbon ! What do you think would be the best choice during this time of the year ?
I know Lisbon looks beautiful and it's highly recommended by everyone but maybe it's not as good on rainy days ? Budapest seems cool down to earth and less touristy from what I've heard but it's cold. Also, Prague is not very far from there, I can spend 1 night there. I've been to prag last year and didn't really enjoy the city because of the huge crowds of tourists. But I really liked the vibe at the hostel. I had a lot of fun and met cool people. Maybe Budapest is similar with less tourists?
The reason I'm leaning a bit more towards Budapest because I can go back to Portugal anytime during summer with friends or family. And there's no age limit. Whereas Budapest, this might be my last opportunity (I'm 27 Liver still ok) And whenever I travel during summer I tend to go to coastal destinations.
Also, what do you think about these hostels ? Lisbon: Yes / Home hostel. Budapest : Carpe Noctem vitae I like smaller hostels, where you feel like a family with other guests. And where they have both day and night activities.
Thanks for your input !
