Atlanta, GA to Phoenix AZ - I have two routes that have me pondering which one is better sightseeing-wise.
I'll be driving from Atlanta to Phoenix later around late December-early January, and google maps gave me two routes. Although I like the southern route due to the smaller distance and estimated travel time (frankly not much, only a difference of 19 miles/1 hour lol), I'm wondering if anyone had any objections that would make the northern route more appealing.
I've decided that should I take the southern route, I'll most likely stop in Dallas for the night, probably at a motel or sleep in the car at a truck stop because I don't really have an issue with these choices, and I figure it will be cool to drive along the border on the way to El Paso, and I can stop by White Sands n National Monument since its right along the way in New Mexico. But I'm open to any other suggestions you guys may have. I linked a photo of the two routes below.
EDIT: Ignore the plane route that's just chilling there in the middle. Also since I'll be driving in the middle of winter, I've factored in winter weather that might hit Oklahoma at the time.
