Should we be traveling to Myanmar?
I've generally been of the opinion that travel makes the world a more peaceful place, and that it's not really my place to pass judgment on another nation's government. I visited Poland last spring, have recently visited Thailand and Indonesia, and I probably wouldn't fret too much over visiting Turkey or The Philippines. But I find myself hesitating about returning to Myanmar in the wake of what is happening to the Rohingya.
My previous visit to Yangon was just before the 2015 elections, and the hopeful sense that could be seen among the people was notable. But now I find myself hesitating, thinking that what Myanmar's governmnt is doing has crossed a line and that I should not offer any support to it.
