Really nervous about my trip to Thailand in ~2 weeks, afraid of what parents will think.
Hey everyone. So, I booked a flight to Bangkok and its scheduled for the 6th of December. Its something I've always dreamed about and now can financially do. I have about 2500 saved for this trip and I plan to extend my Visa exempt pass so I can stay til about mid January. I mainly plan to do that because I get to spend more time there but also flights out look a lot cheaper then the week around New years. It will technically be my first time out of the USA, on my own (Im 20/m). I feel like I haven't done enough to prepare. I have read a lot about what to expect and such and have a general itinerary. I need to tell my parents soon, but I don't know what they'll think. They sorta are expecting me to be saving for college and such but I made some investment decisions earlier this year to were I feel like this trip will not hurt financially. So basically I need some help with:
Am I prepared? I basically plan to do this itinerary. I have a Farpoint 40L and my passport, will I be fine just packing the farpoint full and only having that? From what I've read about all airlines accept the farpoint 40 as carry on at no cost?
I gotta tell my parents soon, I'm really afraid and don't know how to break it down to them. I need to show them that I'm completely prepared, but I feel like I'm not. What do you guys do to tell them, if they're disappointed or something and don't want me to go how do I convince them because my flights already booked. thanks! I really hope to have a blast experiencing as many temples and street food and places when I get there, recommendations on those are appreciated also my plans when I get there are just sorta open.
