So I've been working my ass off in Riyadh and usually take a vacay every two months or so to break up the monotony here. Well, I started learning Arabic and can't miss class so I'm limited to vacations only during breaks between sessions and the next break is Dec 14. I usually have traveled pretty wild and spontaneous in the past (flying into Sri Lanka with just a motorcycle rental, learning to sail in Greece, 10 day Vipassana mediation in Nepal to name some) but this time I'd like to just chill, surf, and relax and the Maldives is cheap (less than $500) direct flight from Riyadh. Anybody been there before? The waves apparently arent super hardcore and the swells are similar to what you'll find in Bali, maybe a bit smaller, without a huge crowd.
