I'm travelling from SLC to Denver tomorrow, and was wanting some advice...

So, I heard that I-70 is the most scenic route and makes the drive more entertaining. But there are 3 factors that I have heard of that make me hesitant; 1) I'd need to have very specific tires to get through I70 and couple possibly get a 600+ dollar fine if I don't have them. 2) heard it can be quite a scary trip if there is a lot of snow. Saw the snow isn't too bad right now, but you never know how it'll be when you wanna go back home. 3) the 'rush hour' and traffic jams on I-70 during weekends can be terrible.

I'm thinking of just going I-80 to avoid all of that extra shennanigans, as I'd basically be able to haul ass through Wyoming and the traffic wouldn't be bad. Does anyone know if I'd need any special tires for that route?
