I bought a ticket to Munich Feb 3rd - Fed 22nd RT from Seattle for a smoking deal. Need some guidance.
I just bought a RT ticket($430!!!!!) from Seattle(where I live) to Munich during the dates in the title. It will be my second time overseas, first time alone. I've done solo traveling alone before, just not overseas(last night was with a SO). I'm excited, but nervous because it's not so much safety, but I want to interact with people while there. Friends have commented that traveling alone for three weeks as a female is bad*ss, but for some reason, I don't find it a big deal. A little voice in the back of my head is telling me I don't know what I'm getting myself into. I'm looking for some advice to reason with me and also suggest really awesome things to do while there. Major points:
-Plans include Munich, Prague, and the majority in Florence -I have a workaway arrangement set up in Florence caring and teaching two little girls English and staying a guest bedroom. -Debating whether to do couchsurfing or pay for a hostel in Prague and Munich. -Looking forward to taking the train between Prague and Florence, otherwise flying between cities. -Bringing a 30L Porter and using packing cubes. I have an outlet adapter. -How do travelers do laundry? Is it available at the hostel? Will CS hosts let you? should I resort to a launder mat? - Is Prague safe at night? I already purchased tickets to see Iron and Wine which the show begins at 8pm - Is Neuschwanstein Castle worth the day trip? - Are there any don't-leave-location-without-eating/doing-place in Prague, Munich, or Florence? -I love to hike. Is there any rural, gorgeous day hikes I must go on that are assessable by public transit near any of those cities? - I only speak English with a smidge of Spanish. Do I need to know some Italian, Czech, and German before leaving?
