First Solo trip (1 Week) to test the waters
Hey guys,
20/m/uk, been lurking for a bit and i've decided to book up the last bit of my holiday for the year to go on a little solo tour of southern Spain to see if solo travel is my thing.
I've booked all my transport to Spain and between the cities, sorted out all my accommodation as well.
It fits in quite nicely as i have a few friends out there and a conversational level of Spanish so it felt pretty comfortable for me, for a bit of detail it's from the 1st December to the 10th and I'm going to the following places with some stuff I wanna go do:
Valencia 1st - 4th
Pretty much here to kick things off, down to go see the science musuem, take a few strolls through the river park, check out the central market, find somewhere nice to kick back some paella, Llotja de la Seda to name a few, might see if i can dig out a rock bar to see some live music or something one evening
Murcia 4th - 6th
This is pretty much a layover to see some friends out there, so I don't really intend to do much here.
Granada 6th - 8th
Alhambra, probably take a long walk off into the Dehesa del Generalife aftwards, enjoy some of that free tapas with every drink at some of their bars.
Malaga 8th - 10th
Haven't planned anything yet.
Wanna add a bit more to this list, can't fill it up like crazy as I haven't given myself the most time in the world to check a lot of these places out and i kind of want to leave a bit of it to just walking around and seeing where I end up.
Few questions:
Is it worth spending my time to get to understand local transport?
How do you guys avoid getting overwhelmed by the city you're in?
Any recommendations for places to swing by whilst in these places?
Any more generic tips to make sure I get out there, meet people and enjoy myself?
Say the least i'm pretty excited about this and if I enjoy it, well, I'll probably go on a much longer solo trip next year!
