First overseas trip. Worried family.
Hey everyone. Ive posted here not too long ago but due to an error of some sort it wasn’t viewable for very long. I would like another chance to post.
I am a 21/M living in Adelaide, South Australia. I plan to travel to Japan in 2 months from now. This will be my first overseas trip by myself and I am both nervous and excited. I am aware how safe Japan is, but my family isn’t so keen I go by myself, even though they know my desire to.
Ive studied Japanese for a few years at high school and have been familiarising myself with the language and culture ever since. I feel as though I will be safe in Japan, but again my mother and sister are completely against me going in the case my stuff gets stolen, and I get in trouble etc.
I am interested to know from other people who have/had similar issues. How did you cope with disapproval from loved ones? Has the trip been worthwhile?
