Few questions about traveling to Yangon, Myanmar for a first-timer.
Hi all. My GF and I are currently planning a weeklong trip to Yangon in January and just had some basic questions for anyone that's been there. My biggest fear about going there is getting hopelessly lost with no English speakers around for help. I'm mainly curious about things such as:

Is Yangon a fairly navigable city? As in, is it easy to get around and if we get lost on some random street or alleyway, will it be fairly easy to find our way back to our hotel or somewhere recognizable?

Is it like Vietnam, where it can be difficult/dangerous to cross the street?

Did you have any issues with police or officials trying to demand bribes or give you trouble?

Would it be best to stay at one of the hotels connected to the airport?

Did anyone find other Western travelers there to do things with?

Is it easy to find good transportation to popular places like Bagan and then back to the city?

What were some of your favorite things to do in the city? the only thing I know to do there right now is a train that goes in a circle around the city.

Anything else we should know about traveling there and seeing the popular attractions?
