February solo travel to Quito(in/out), Ecuador looking for ideas and tips?
Hello. I've read a few of the posts about this prior but still have some questions.
Mainly is a rental car a good idea? Rather than taking a bus everywhere.
I'm a pretty outdoorsy adventure guy and I'd like to get a good dose of that. And also visit the cultural landmarks.
I was thinking something in the amazon to the east of quito, staying in one of the lodges maybe somewhere by coca. And visiting one of the mountains close by to quito. But now I am looking at places like Mindo tio see the cloud forest, of the beach Puerto Lopez, Banos.
I was wondering what people felt was the best activities in ecuador. I'll be flying in and out of quito. I am conformable reading spanish.
I know banos has a lot of outdoor stuff to do. The swing at the end of teh world and teh devils cauldron look awesome. Mindo is somewhat close to quito so can visiting this be done from quito?
I'll have 9 days there.
