Budapest or Prague for a 3-day solo break?
Hi Reddit,
I will be flying from Thailand to the U.K. at the end of November, but I want to stop off in a European city I've never been to. I've narrowed my choice down to Prague and Budapest.
I am 27 years old, and quite introverted, although I do like meeting people when I'm having a few beers.
Just looking for advice on which city you'd choose out of these two, based on the following things that I rank as important.
- Cheap, tasty food that is unique to that country (I love trying new food). A welcome bonus would be good cafes that serve excellent coffee.
- Easy to meet people to explore the city with. Prefer hostels that are sociable without being glorified raves where it's impossible to listen to other people speak.
- Pleasant and easy to navigate by foot, with many photo opportunities.
- Interesting pub scene with high beer quality.
- Better to visit solo than with other people: I dunno why, but I've always had the impression Prague is somewhere you would want to go with friends.
Thanks for any advice.
