25M - 10 nights Around Cancun. Looking for tips on my itinerary

I fly into (and out of) Cancun in mid January and will be staying for 10 nights. I was wondering your opinions on my proposed itinerary.

  • Fly into Cancun then immediately head to Isla Mujeres for a 2 night stay
  • 4 nights in Playa Del Carmen
  • 3 Nights in Tulum
  • Spend the last night decompressing in a private room in Cancun before my flight out.

I want to spend most of my time doing some kind of water activity whether it be snorkeling, scuba, learning to free dive, kayak, etc. I'm not huge on heavy partying but wouldn't be opposed for a couple debaucherous nights out. So far, I've only booked one hostel in PDC, Lobo Del Mar, it seems like a good fit since it's a scuba school, tour agency, and hostel all in one. I'm open to other suggestions though.
