£20,000/$26,500 for 6 months in South America & 6 months in SEA?
How realistic do you think this is? This isn't including flights out, visas, jabs etc
To save money :
- I don't drink alcohol anyway, not at all
- Travelling carry on only so no need to check in luggage when flying
- Travel slowly/take night buses etc
- Cook in hostels when possible
- Stay in cheaper hostels
- Staying very flexible, only booking onward travel when necessary.
- I'm not sure how hard it is to find work in exchange for food/accommodation, but I would love to do this
- From the UK, so visas aren't always necessary.
Countries I plan to visit. Everything is a really rough guide so far :
-
SA. Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador. Less time in Argentina, more in Colombia. Big splurge will be longer than a month in Brazil but starting in the North. Have family friends that live in Santiago so will save money there.
-
SEA. Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand are the only ones set in stone at the moment. This is after SA.
£20,000/$26,500 is a rough guide at the moment. I will have access to more if needed - but I would love to do as much as I can with this amount.
