2 weeks in Colombia: Bogotá + Cartagena or Bogotá + Medellín?
Hello!
I am a 19 year old Swedish female who is planning on visiting South America by myself this winter (my first solo trip ever!).
My trip will most likely end with 2 weeks in Colombia in March, before I go home to Sweden. I'll be flying in and out from Bogotá but I'd like to see some other things as well. My mind is set on either Cartagena or Medellín. I'd probably have time to do all three cities, but I'd rather take my time in each city and maybe do some day trips instead of rushing through it all.
I'm not very much into beaches, tourists and partying, which makes me think Medellín is the better choice. But I will also previously have spent 2 months in the mountains, so maybe the Caribbean vibe of Cartagena will be a nice as a change...
What to you think will be the better choice? Should I opt for all three, or just do Bogotá and 1 other city? Is there perhaps a city, or a better itinerary that I've completely missed? Also, which option is the safest as a female solo traveller?
