Why do we form such strong bonds with people while traveling?
I spent some time solo traveling and met a girl. We only got to know eachother for 2 days and ended up hooking up. Ofcourse, I knew this wouldn't work because I'm from the US and she's from the netherlands. Back home I've dated/hooked up with plenty of girls and didnt have much of a connection. I was fine to sever ties and move on. Yet, I'm in a slump over a dutch girl I spent two nights with. I knew it would have to end but I'm sad we had to part ways.
Has this happened to anyone? Is it because its a romanticized idea? Why do we tend to get attached to people so quick when traveling?
I'm just trying to rationalize this because it feels stupid to be upset over.
