Where to visit from Dubai?
Hello hello,
SO and I are going for a wedding in Dubai (don't want to spend more time there than we have to) and will have 9 days after for a small holiday. We live in a cold European country so a chance to escape the winter is welcomed. I've been researching where to fly to from Dubai and so far Goa and Jordan seem most attractive. A beach destination with things to do would be awesome and Jordan seems to fit the bill. Is it very expensive? How is the atmosphere is the tourist destinations? Online I read "cheaper than Israel" but that does not tell me much. Goa seems to be more fun though, but I am worried that it's going to be a watered down package tourist hot spot, or as I am reading online polluted. The sights in Jordan seem unreal.
We've been to Sri Lanka in the region and loved it. I was also considering the Maldives, but the flights are crazy expensive and the weather seems to be a big "if." Plus there's nothing to do.
We are a couple in our early 30s, active, like to meet people and like partying, but it's not a must. Food is a big plus. We are open to other suggestions. We would preferably not fly a lot as we have to get back from Dubai as well.
Thank you!
