What to do with overwhelming feeling?
Hey solo travelers!
I've been traveling in Thailand for 12 days and I can’t help but feeling overwhelmed at times. How do you cope with those overwhelming sensations? I’m sure I’m not the only one. There are just so much things going on while I’m traveling that I often feel overwhelmed and I feel that I it’s hard for me to really appreciate and enjoy the experience like I should…
In my opinion the backpackers’ life involves a lot of: meeting all kinds of new people every single day, seeing and experiencing new things every single day, eating new delicious meals every single day. There are just so much new things happening in such a small period of time!
When moving to another hostel/place everything changes again: meeting new people, new environments, etc, etc… It’s just so exciting but so overwhelming at the same time!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I find change to be a bad thing. I absolutely love the experience of solo travel (of course it does have its ups and downs, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows) but I just want to be sure that I’m doing this right!
What do you guys (try to) do when you’re traveling to make sure you’re getting the most out of your experience? I keep a journal and I try to write down how I’m feeling in the moment or write about the experiences I’ve had. I also find it important to get in touch with people back home whenever I’m feeling a bit lonely.
Thanks a bunch guys!
