Tax question
Hi all, I recently purchased an item in the EU, and was told I was given it without a certain tax as, being a citizen of the UK which is still in the EU (dammit!) this tax didn't apply. I was given some documents and told to mention it at the airport.
Due to language barriers and me being not so great at the whole "having good ears" lark, I'm not sure if I'm doing this in order to check that I don't need to pay more, or to get a rebate as I paid the advertised price, which may have included tax.
Could anyone shed some light on this process? I'm not so worried about what I have to do, since it's fairly obvious I have to take these documents to customs/item declare at the airport. But if anyone could explain more it would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
