Serbia and Bosnia...in January! Belgrade, Novi Sad, Subotica, Sarajevo, Mostar - how many days?
I'm currently planning a trip to Bosnia and Serbia for my partner and I from December 30th to January 11th. We fly into Belgrade, and fly out of Tuzla, Bosnia.
Basically, I'm looking for advice on how long we should spend in the cities we're looking at, and if there maybe are some other smaller/cities towns we also should look into. I've read some online recommendations for how long we should stay in places, but most recommendations seem geared towards summer trips. I would love any winter-specific advice!
Our interests: Museums! Especially about science, aviation, or any "unique" historical museums. One of us loves aviation and history from the Ottoman era, while the other is interested in pharmacy and Yugoslavia's recent history. We also like architecture. We aren't very interested in partying, though we like trying local beers and wines! We aren't super-fast travelers because we like taking our time in museums, but we don't like to linger in a place after we've done and seen everything we're interested in.
Cities (with the things we're most interested in):
Belgrade: Tesla museum, aviation museum, Tito's Grave, Museum of Yugoslavia, Mt. Avala, the fortress and Ali Pasha's turbeh, African art museum. Christmas/New Years' market. How long: maybe three whole days?
Novi Sad: Chinese quarter, City Museum of Novi Sad, Museum of Vojvodina. Maybe one night?
Subotica: Architecture, Christmas market. Day trip or one night.
Sarajevo: National Museum, History Museum of BiH, Gazi-Husrevbey Mosque and Museum, Emperor's Mosque, Jewish Museum. Maybe 3-4 whole days?
Mostar: Museum of Herzegovina. Day trip or one night.
