Road trip south eastern US coast
Hello r/roadtrip,
I'm planning to do a roadtrip next spring (~May) by motorcycle. This will be my first time doing a multiday trip by motorcycle. I've done multi day trips before by car and backpacking. My plan is to get up at 7am and be on the road by 8am. Then use the afternoons to visit the place I landed. I'm not a huge city person, so I'm thinking I'll be fine with only half a day in each place. I'll be staying mainly at hotels or motels.
- Is my plan/timeline realistic?
- Are there any hidden gems I should include in my route?
- Suggestions on non-highway roads I should be taking? Doing a highway by motorcycle is rather boring.
route: http://ift.tt/2zXFHdZ
- Day 1 - Savannah (5u drive)
- Day 2 - Daytona Beach & Cape canaveral (5u drive)
- Day 3 - Miami (3u drive)
- Day 4 - Key West (4u drive)
- Day 5 - Everglades(4u drive)
- Day 7 - Jacksonville (5u)
- Day 8/9 - Hilton Head Island (3u)
- Day 10 - Wilmington
Other things to note: I'll actually have 2 weeks off work (16 days). So I can add in additional days. But I didn't think it was necessary. I've only driven a motorcycle a couple of times so far. I'm currently working on scheduling the MSF course. I'm looking at buying a Kawasaki Versys. I'm not technically knowledgable on motorcycles. I skipped Charleston because I have friends there and plan to visit them on other occasions. I skipped Tampa as I've already visited the north western side of Florida.
Edit: fix format
