Is traveling to Europe during the 'low season' a bad idea?
I want to save money, avoid crowds, see fall colors and snow in certain places. Ideally, I would leave for Europe in September and stay until February of the following year.
I would start in London, journey through certain cities and regions of Western Europe using Eurail for a month, and settle down for extended periods in Italy (4-5 weeks), Switzerland (1-2 weeks in hostels, I'm aware it's very expensive but the mountains are world-class), Germany (5-7 weeks), and Scandinavia (3-4 weeks).
I think as long as I have a certain type of visa, I can stay in Europe (most countries) for longer than 90 days. Right?
