Hotel/resort recommendation in Costa Rica
My wife and I spent a week in Manuel Antonio a number of years ago. We absolutely loved it, but having traveled a good bit since then (i.e. Nicaragua, Roatan, rural Spain,) we can now see how touristy it was, and we have grown to enjoy a more genuine experience with the places we visit. All that being said, we are really just looking for a nice, quiet place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
Length Seven days
Budget Max $4,000US, not including flights.
Date Late January - early February
Interests Good food, maybe some snorkeling and horseback riding. We love nature. If some monkeys are hanging around, that's great. Everything is better with monkeys. Mostly we'll just be chilling on the beach/balcony/hammock with our Kindles.
Important considerations Beachfront is key. Smaller, boutique hotels are great - we're not into mega-resorts or chains. An "adults only" place would be fantastic. Secluded is great; crowds and noise are not. We'd like to stay within a few hours of Liberia, but not so close that we end up in touristville.
I know this may seem like a simple request, but I've been going through listings on TA for freakin' days and they're all starting to run together. Any advice would be deeply appreciated.
