Hello r/solotravel I am in the process of planning a solo trip to Vietnam - quick trip just to Hanoi and Halong Bay over 5 days. I want to do a Halong Bay cruise, but there are so many of them I'm having a difficult time selecting one and wanted to see if anyone had some recent advice.

I'm a 29/M/USA who is very active - I enjoy meeting new people, doing outdoorsy things, and having a few drinks here and there. I am not into the drunken hostel bar-crawl party crowd. I like having a good time, but I travel for the experience and living in Miami I can do the latter basically anytime at home.

I feel like the only Halong Bay cruises I see are the ultra-luxury type for old people or the frat-party drunken backpack cruises? Is there anything in between or that is more geared towards people who are looking for something in between?

I see this has been asked before a while ago - but wondering if someone has gone recently and has any suggestions!
