California Coast - January 19 - 29, 2017
A friend and I will be flying from a very cold Canadian city to San Francisco on January 19th. We will be taking in a hockey game in San Jose on January 23rd and Anaheim on January 25th. We'll be picking up a rental car on the morning of January 23rd and plan to drive down to San Diego, where we will be flying home from on January 29th.
We're equally interested in culture and history as we are hiking and adventure. Given our tight schedule and the plethora of amazing experiences we've seen California can offer online, we are feeling a bit overwhelmed on what we should absolutely see/do on our trip.
So far, we've talked about Hearst Castle in San Simeon, renting ATVs in Pismo Beach, and hiking through Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. Any other suggestions?
Rough plan so far: -January 19th - 22nd in San Francisco and surrounding areas -January 23rd - San Jose; hockey game at 7PM -January 24th - Early wake up to begin drive down coast. Spend the night somewhere around halfway between San Jose and LA/Anaheim area -January 25th - Continue down coast during day and hockey game at 7PM in Anaheim -January 26th - Open day -January 27th - Drive to San Diego -January 28th - Open day -January 29th - Fly home
