7 Weeks In India Itinerary
Hello,
I'm leaving for India in 11 days and am going to spend 7 weeks travelling the country alone. It is my first time in India and I have put together a rough itinerary. The itinerary isn't set in stone, meaning I'm still open to suggestions and to going with the flow in case there's a place I really like or something else that comes up.
With that being said, the route I have so far might be quite ambituous for 7 weeks, which is why I'd like to ask for any feedback, suggestions or concerns from people who have been to India before and have more experience than I do. Also, my budget isn't huge, which is why I plan on mainly travelling by train and staying in relatively cheap guesthouses or hostels. The places I have chosen to visit are all in the North-western part of India, but I really want to see Varanasi so I am contemplating flying from Delhi to Varanasi and back at the end of my trip.
Here's the itinerary I have so far: Delhi -> Pushkar (camel fair) -> Udaipur -> Jodhpur -> Jaisalmer -> Bikaner -> Delhi -> Chandigarh -> Amritsar -> Dharamsala -> Shimla -> Chandigarh -> Rishikesh -> Delhi ->(by plane) Varanasi -> (by plane) Delhi
