Will travel insurance cover your lossof income if a delay causes you to come home late and miss a day of work?
Suppose you purchased travel insurance and your flight gets delayed. Originally you were scheduled to come home on a Sunday and you have work on Monday. But now you have to come home on Monday and miss a day of work.
Suppose you're entitled up to $500 in compensation if you're delayed to cover your expenses. You spend $100 in lodging and food. However you also get paid around $300 a day at your job but you were unable to work that day due to your delay.
If this were the situation, would you be able to be compensated for your lost wages due to the delay, up to the maximum compensation offered by travel insurance? If so, has anyone ever successfully filed and received a claim for a flight delay that caused missed work and missed wages?
