Two Week Long South African Trip – Any Advice?
Hi Internet! My wife and I are going to South Africa for two weeks during the end of November and the beginning of December. We want to spend our time in Kruger (~a week) and Cape Town (~week). Really short, I know, but that's all the time we are able to spend. We will fly from Kruger to Cape Town.
We want to see animals, enjoy scenery and relax a bit in Cape Town. We aren't on a strict budget – but we also want to keep the spending low when possible. Thinking of spending a total of ~$2,000-$3,000 USD while we are there (not including flights).
-We will hire a car. We were thinking of driving around Kruger ourselves some of the time, and also get a few days of day-long budget safaris as well.
-We were thinking of spending the night at a different place each night in Kruger. Looking for places in Hoedspruit, Timbavati, Belfast, and/or Marloth Park. We are hoping to spend ~$150 a night for stays.
-I want to dive with Great Whites in a cage in Cape Town. Thinking of Apex predators.
Questions:
-If you had two weeks in Kruger/Cape Town, how would you spend your time? Half/Half? More time in Kruger? More time in Cape Town?
-Recommendations for day-long, budget safaris?
-Should we wait to book safaris when we get there, or online beforehand?
-Cape Town must-sees?
