Hello all,

Very excited to be able to write on this subreddit finally. I want to take my wife on a romantic/relaxing trip to Italy. I'll start with a breakdown of my logistics and then speak about why I an writing.

Budget: 3-5k Origin country: United States Departure time: March 9th - 18th, 2018

So I saw that tickets into Venice were extremely cheap round-trip, and it looks like that's the cheapest to fly into, but I wanted to know if anyone had some "Nice-to-know" tidbits and hidden gems about places to be in Italy as a whole​ because we're pretty flexible. We'll only be going for about 10 days so I'd like to keep the amount of cities we're visiting to a minimum so we can take sufficient time to enjoy each. I was considering Venice and Rome. Rome for sight seeing and Venice for romance like a late night ride through the canal. Looking forward to the responses, sorry if this post us dumb, I'm never good at posting on Reddit.
