My Mother (58) & Father (57) are going travelling for 4 months as of tomorrow.
My Dad did a bit of travelling in his early 20's (Europe, Israel, Egypt) but my Mum didn't get the chance or chose not to.
However, watching her two children, me (24/M) and my sister (26) travel in our early 20's made her want to do it. Me, my Dad and my sister all have our own tales and photos we have accumulated and my Mum felt like she had missed out I guess.
After what seems like 2/3 years (including a 1 year setback) of planning and saving they head off tomorrow and I'm so happy and proud of them!
I know alot of older people say "travel when you're young" and whilst yes, it's definitely easier when you are younger with less responsibilities, I'm glad my parents are about to prove its still possible if you really want it and work hard enough to save the money.
You go Mum and Dad, you go! 🌎
Oh and I have the house to myself for 4 months which is pretty rad.
