LA/California "Roadtrip" - august 2018
Hello Travelers!
I'm a swedish citizen that plan on going to LA august 2018. I will do this together with 4 friends and we are all aged 24-25.
To keep this post from becoming a wall of text I'll post what I know and then I'll list my questions. "facts":
-
We decided to scale down our trip to California/Nevada, instead of cross country/the entire west coast because of both budget and time conserns.
-
We are trying to get away as cheap as possible where we can, our budget for the trip per person is around 4000$
-
The trip will take place 2018 in august and will in total be 4 weeks.
-
We will fly to and from LAX, since flights there seems cheaper
-
We will rent a SUV, pick up and drop of att LAX.
-
We will probably use AIRBNB and plan to book the first week and then book the rest when we are in LA, this is so we are not tied down.
-
Im thinking that we'll stay around 2 weeks in LA then drive to San Francisco and stay there around a week, then from there drive to yosemite and then onward to Las vegas for 2-3days and around here get to grand canyon, then drive back to LA before we fly home.
Now I want to exprience USA, I want to eat junkfood, I want to eat quality food, I want to shoot guns, I want to I would like to meet people. I want to really feel and touch the american culture.
Questions:
-
What can't we miss in LA?
-
What can't we miss in San Francisco?
-
What should we try in california in general?
-
What should we include on our way to las vegas more then yosemite?
-
Just general stuff, where is the best places to shoot guns, where are the best bars, how do we not get stabbed, how much cash should we bring (sweden is almost cash free, only debit cards etc).
I am googling the heck out of this but I would also like rekommendations from real people! Thank you
