How to overcome fear of traveling alone? Something I've wanted to do for quite some time but scared.
What's up guys? I'm wanting to travel throughout the USA visiting different states for a couple months. (I live in the USA.) I have an SUV that I can convert into a mini camper. I have the funds to do this & the time. I've always wanted to travel. Well since about 3 years ago. I thought it'd be cool to do when I was younger but never thought SERIOUSLY about it until shortly after high school. I'm kind of ashamed to say this but I binge watch vandwelling, travelling vlogs on YouTube, and am an avid follower of many travel YouTube channels. But I feel like I cannot bring myself to just up and go. Last year I went to Washington state from the southern USA to stay with a relative of mine for 2 weeks but I fly instead. When he was at work I liked walking around downtown Tacoma, I'd walk all over without feeling really out of place.
But I've since wanted to "step up the ante". I want to spend a couple months traveling roadtripping the USA. But shit I'm afraid to take the plunge. Mainly because I'm afraid of vehicle troubles and getting stuck or not knowing what to do/getting bored/and regretting being so far from home.
This is probably the last time I'll have a chance to do something like this or at least for a while b/c I'm currently unemployed. Living back at home and I'm sure my parents are thinking what the hell im going to do now. Debt free & have quite a bit of money saved but I really don't want to blow all my money on this trip. Any tips from people who were in my situation? Thanks.
