Greece Itinerary Help
My wife and I are taking an 8-night trip to Greece with two other couples next May-June. We are all from the US and are 26-28 years old, no kids. We are looked for a balanced trip of relaxation, cultural exploration, food and drinking, outdoors, and history. Our preference is to stay away from tourist traps and over-touristy areas, although we can't go so far off the beaten path that there is nothing to do. We want to see as much as possible but we also don't want to overload our schedule. We are looking for advice on balance.
I have put together the start of an itinerary and I would appreciate feedback as to if it's too busy, if we should change our day trips or "base camps," if there is something we're missing that we should include, and if we should spend more or less time in a particular place. Any hidden gems or villa recommendations are appreciated as well!
Itinerary:
Friday: Land in Athens in the AM, explore Athens, Acropolis, city tour. Sleep in Athens
Saturday: Day trip to Delphi, sleep in Athens
Sunday: Fly to Naxos, Explore Naxos. Relax on the beach. sleep in Naxos
Monday: Day trip to Santorini/sailling tour. Sleep in Naxos
Tuesday: Naxos hikes, explore villages, beaches. Sleep in Naxos.
Wednesday: Travel to Nafplion via Athens. Sleep in Naplio.
Thursday: Epidauros/Nafplion day. Sleep in Nafplio.
Friday: Lousios Gorge Hike day trip. Sleep in Nafplion
Saturday: Travel to Athens and Fly out
Thanks for any and all suggestions!
