Going to Gambia without a Hep A vaccine?
I'm a 25 y.o. healthy woman living in the UK. My partner (healthy 25M, also from the UK) and I have booked a week-long trip to Gambia in late November and are also planning a day trip to Senegal to go to a wildlife reserve. Due to the global shortage in the Hep A vaccine I've been unable to find anywhere that has the vaccine in stock- neither my GP nor any of the travel clinics in the city have it. However, we will both be vaccinated for typhoid and yellow fever.
How high of a risk is it for us to go on this trip without a Hep A vaccine? Should we be considering cancelling?
