Getting a passport with a suspended license (USA)

I have an appointment at a Passport Agency in a few days to obtain a US passport. I will be traveling in a couple of weeks unexpectedly.

Unfortunately, my drivers license is currently suspended, but I still have a physical copy of the license. Would I still be able to use it as a form of ID to obtain my passport, or will the passport office check with the DMV and see that it's suspended and consider it an invalid form of ID?

I am going to apply for a new valid ID card at the DMV, but it will not arrive until after my appointment at the Passport Agency.
