Flying with Ryanair getting that little bit more frustrating...
I notice lots of posts regarding Ryanair on here and I've just flown with them. I do quite regularly but found that there's a 'recent' change - or at least one I haven't noticed before - which involves booking seats.
I checked in for free within 4 days of flying and found very limited seats. My party of 3 couldn't sit together at all. However, when boarding I noticed the plane was about 75% full, some rows empty. The person I was sat next to checked in the same way and found the person he is travelling with is sitting next to one I'm travelling with, so we swapped. It seems like money-hungry Ryanair are purposely seating you apart from your family/friends if you check in for free, banking on you going for a paid check-in next time to ensure your seats.
On top of that, the baggage rules are changing. No longer can you bring 2 bags on as hand luggage but 1, unless you pay a small fee to be a priority passenger.
However, checked in luggage weight limits are rising significantly - so there's one positive. I believe these rules start in November.
Those of you who regularly comment on here worried about Ryanair - don't worry, cause they are reliable (they'd never want to pay late departure fees...) and if you follow their rules, it's cheap and an excellent way to travel.
