Barcelona to Central Asia - 6 to 7 months

Hi all. My girlfriend and I have some set plans for a 6-7 month trip departing from NYC (we are both American) on January 22, 2018. We also have a very much open-ended itinerary and were hoping for some feedback. Here's our set itinerary and tentative plans:

Jan 22 - Newark to Barcelona Jan 25 - Barcelona to Algiers February 11 - Tunis to Beirut

When we arrive in Beirut, we aren't sure how long we will stay. Maybe a week, maybe a month. The next part is what we are having real thoughts about. We want to be in Georgia around April 1, 2018 and then Central Asia around May 1, 2018. Should we go to Turkey and Iraqi Kurdistan for 4-6 weeks or Egypt and Sudan? We know geographically Turkey makes more sense but the timing seems too perfect for Egypt right now. Also, does 3 months sound about right for absorbing some of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan)?
