12 Hour Layover in Lisbon
My husband I will be taking our first trip to Europe in November, we're going over the week of Thanksgiving, leaving November 18th, and will be going to Paris and Rome. However, the way the flights worked out we will have a 12 hour layover in Lisbon on our way there. We are both from the US, in our mid-40's, and our passports are shiny and new.
So a few questions. How long should we expect it to take to get through customs and out of the airport? We were going to take a city bus to an area where there are hop on/hop off bus tours, it looks like there's one that goes directly there. Is this a good idea or would we be better off taking a cab or other transportation?
Our thoughts are we will be tired from the overnight flight and pretty jet lagged so we thought just sitting on a bus and seeing as much as possible would be a good way to see the city if not getting to experience much. Last question, how long before our flight should we plan on getting back to the airport?
We arrive around 6 AM and will fly out around 6 PM, if that helps. Thanks in advance for any advice!
