1 week in France / Switzerland in October. Looking for feedback on my itinerary.
I'm going to France / Switzerland for about a week with 2 days being spent in Grenoble (for a conference so there's no flexibility on that part). I really want to visit the Jungfrau region of Switzerland (Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Interlaken). I even want to to visit Zermatt and Chamonix but I don't think I can fit it.
My itinerary is: Monday - fly into Geneva in the morning, take train to Interlaken (arriving around 2pm), spend day there, possibly visit Lauterbrunnen Tuesday - take trains and visit Lauterbrunnen and to Grindelwald, possibly other towns? Wednesday - take train to Grenoble Thursday - conference in Grenoble Friday - conference in Grenoble Saturday - train to Lyon, spend most of day there, train to Geneva Sunday - fly out of Geneva
Any thoughts about this itinerary? Am I rushing it by going to Interlaken / Lauterbrunnen / Grindelwald? Should I skip it entirely and do another destination closer to Grenoble (possibly Chamonix). If I do end up visiting the Jungfrau region, which town is best to stay in for being a central location and for the views/place to visit. Any tips or feedback would be most appreciated
Edit: Primary mode of travel will be by train.
