Traveling to Japan with food allergy
Girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Japan. I have a severe allergy to avocados. But I also love trying new foods and would love to eat at a higher end restaurant with a tasting menu, and frequent restaurants and food carts. I am planning on making a laminated index card with a picture of an avocado crossed out and the Japanese wording of "allergy." But someone pointed out that the chefs may be insulted I am asking them to modify their food. Does anyone have any input on this?
