Traveling out of country for the first time to Mexico, wondering how to manage money

As the title states, traveling for the first time and going from US to Mexico. My credit is decent at best so I have two cards with $1300 available between them, balances paid off every month. I am taking those two cards as well as approximately $400 cash. I won't be needing a lot of money as I don't have to pay for most of my food or drinks (resort).

Do I need to bring my debit card as well? I figured it would be good to have for emergencies but I also don't want to take a direct link to my checking account in case it gets lost. The credit cards I can file claims or disputes and lose nothing but if the debit card is lost or stolen I could get boned pretty hard. Any advice? Thanks.
