Should we ask for compensation?
My mom and I were supposed to be on a Spirit flight, but it was cancelled because of ATC/weather. The flight cancelled more than 6 hours before departure time and the weather ended up clearing up anyway. Spirit didnt have any available flights for us until 3 days later, so we are supposed to get a refund. To get home on the same day, we needed to book flights with another airline (American) and they were considerably more expensive.
Because we had to spend more money for another airline to get back home in a timely manner, should we be compensated?
