Serious Depression While Backpacking
I am a nineteen year old girl travelling alone through Europe. It's been super tough. Being alone has been fine, but I don't know, certain places I visited just didn't live up to the hype.
I hated the Amalfi Coast. Hvar Island hasn't thrilled me at all. Worst of all I only have 20 euros per day to spend for the next few weeks. I'm off to Budapest and Israel next, then I meet up with my family.
I had serious depression before leaving. I know travelling doesn't rid you of it, but I've just had so many existential thoughts this trip. I feel guilty for travelling. For not having enough money. For not enjoying every second. I'm scared to go home and realise that not even my dream of travelling was enough escape from the demons in my brain. How do you cope with it? What's your advice?
