Looking for suggestions on planned 2 week trip to Europe
My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Europe in December for the first time ever! Excluding initial and ending travel days, we will be there for 11 full days. Leaving the U.S on December 2nd and arriving in Berlin in the morning on December 3rd. We will be flying out of Paris on December 15th.
We were thinking 3 days in Berlin, 3 days in Munich and then end in Paris, but we would like to spend at least one day between Munich and Paris in another city/country. We thought maybe somewhere in either Switzerland, Austria or Belgium, but are not limiting ourselves to those. We would like any suggestions as we're really up for anything!
Interests include good food, scenery and culture. Not too worried about budget, but don't want to spend unnecessary money.
To cut down on travel time, we plan on flying between cities, although I would like to take one train ride as we don't really have them in the U.S. I did see that a train from Geneva to Paris is only about 3 hours and from Brussels to Paris is only about 2. (Hopefully that's correct)
So back to my main question... are Geneva/ Zurich or Brussels worth it? Or is there somewhere more amazing we could go? Or will we be spreading ourselves thin trying to visit a 4th city?
