Italy (outside the major cities)
Hello! My wife and I are going to Italy for our honeymoon in a few weeks and we are feeling overwhelmed with planning our trip as there is limited time and so many cool things to see. We are going for two weeks (end of September) and we fly into Venice and out of Rome. All Venice and Rome activities are set so no suggestions needed for those. We currently live in San Francisco so we don’t have a huge desire to spend the rest of our trip in cities or in museums. We love hiking and just wandering to get the feel for how the locals live. Ideally, we would love to spend 3 nights in Tuscany and 3+ nights in a neat coastal town or two.
- We are trying to stay in nice'sh places for less than $150/night. After doing a bunch of searching, that seems pretty reasonable for most small towns and Airbnb.
-We originally wanted to hike Cinque Terre, but the airbnb's for full apartments are pretty much sold out.

We are thinking about skipping Florence even though it is highly recommended because we are trying to stay in smaller towns, but not too small. We found this list of Italian cities http://ift.tt/1JzQb2k, and realized that there are several about half the size of Florence inside Tuscany: Prato, Livorno. There are also even smaller cities: Pistoia, Arezzo, Terni.

What we are looking for - Amazing food, some night life here and there, and some relaxing.

We are planning on renting a car to get to the small towns, but are also comfortable with public transit (live in SF, have lived in DC, and Boston as well).
