I'm planning a trip for myself and a handful of friends to Hawaii in late Feb/early March. I feel pretty good about the travel plans, but I'm having a hard time sorting out where to stay.

We'd need a max of four beds. If there's six of us, it'll be two couples and two single folk. The two single folk could share a room (though ideally not a bed), but I'd like for the couple-folk to have the option of their own rooms, ideally. Hawaii being at least a little romantic, and all.

Perfect world, I'd love to do two islands (Oahu/Kuauai super ideally) but could live with one. But everything I've found trying to house 4-6 people is running like 7 or 8 grand. I was wondering if anyone had any advice/tips for finding bulk hotel deals/cheap beach houses to rent/etc?

I have a decent budget, but the less of it I blow on the housing the more fun stuff we can do.
