First Time Solo Female. Want to go to UK (or Ireland) And Want Help Deciding On Which Country.
I want to take my first solo trip somewhere in the UK or Ireland. I'm small, female, and have never traveled alone so safety is a concern. I understand nowhere is ever entirely safe, I'm fine to be at some risk. To this topic, rather than listing out the safest places, maybe share opinions on places to absolutely avoid? I believe I have good common sense, and from what I have gathered so far, safety practices are similar to that of where I'm from in the states (be alert, mind ya business, don't attract attention to yourself, etc.).
I love nature, hiking, spectacular sights and such. I'm big on gastro-toursim, and I like spending my evenings with a good beer or scotch in a hole in the wall. I'll be honest, I like creepy dark and spooky stuff, so catacomb tours and the like are also of extremely high interest. I love live music, specifically punk/rock. And I enjoy old architecture. I like friendly, outgoing, talkative cultures. I do not like clubbing or anything like that.
I think I want to just pick one country and stay for two or three weeks so I can really absorb everything and have time to just relax on some days. Definitely open to opinions on that too.
