8 Days in Italy - February/March - Tuscany region?
I know the topic of a 7- or 8-day trip to Italy has been covered many times before, but I'm wondering specifically regarding the months of February/March.
Girlfriend and I are flying into Rome on Thurs, February 22nd and departing Fri, March 2nd. That gives us 8 nights to work with. We absolutely want to spend 3-4 nights total in Rome, but the rest is up in the air. Florence looks incredible and with it being just a 1.5hr train ride from Rome, I think we will head there for 2-3 nights.
Where else should we try to get to? Would it be worth going to Siena/San Gimignano/another city in the Tuscany region? They have been highly recommended on many of these threads, but will they still be worth traveling to with the weather being the way it could be in February/March?
